The benefits over traditional analogue control are:

1. Its cost effective. A Brooks Instruments analogue control box can run 4 mass flow controllers, and if you need to run 5 flow controllers, you need to buy another control box. Our RS485 interface/power supply unit coupled with our standard software is comparable in cost to a single Brooks analogue control box, but as standard will run up to 10 flow controllers. Bespoke systems are available to run as many flow controllers as you require.

2. Its more cost and time effective than building your own analogue control systems based on ADC and DAC boards in your PC.

3. All you need is one free USB or RS232 COM port on your PC.

4. Our software has full implementation of the Brooks HART communication protocol status byte monitoring for diagnosing any flow problems, firmware, or hardware problems. If you have a malfunction you will find out in seconds, saving time and money. You can also log all flow data in user defined time periods.

If you have any specific process control requirements e.g. maintaining a fixed total flow (or pressure, temperature etc.) whilst changing several flow controller flow settings, we can set up one flow controller to actively adjust its flow to maintain your fixed total flow.
